“Next to Normal” is the fresh face that the SAU Theatre Department needed. For the past few years, SAU’s productions have been mostly kid friendly and were mainly catered to the community, but this show is vastly different. “Next to Normal” is able to relate to the society on a deeper and personal level than ever before. Today, there are numerous cases of mental health issues, and there is no talk about it inside most households, but rather, swept under the rug. The production allows its viewers to reflect on themselves and gives them relief that they too are not alone. The cast and small band worked beautifully together. Each song is a journey that floods the audience with emotions and stays with them until the very end.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of “Next to Normal,” you made it! Now, everyone, go buy your tickets!
